Stoffel leads No. 17 Foresters to second at Bethel Invite

Hannah Stoffel ran to her fourth win of the season as the 17th-ranked Huntington University women’s cross country team placed second out of 20 teams at the Bethel University Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 12.

Stoffel, a junior from Huntigton, breezed to the 5K win in 17:32.7, finishing more than one minute ahead of runner-up Emma Jankowski of Bethel.

A pair of HU teammates also placed in the top 10 as Molly Mitchell claimed fourth out of 217 runners in 18:48.0 while Saige Norris turned in a 19:02. 4 for seventh place.

HU scored 68 points on the day. Indiana Wesleyan, ranked eighth nationally, won the event with a score of 49 points.

Completing the HU scoring five were Isabel Hunter, 53rd in 20:30.1 and Erin Manchess, 65th in 20:44.2.

Also competing for HU were Sydney Kallem, who finished in 21:20.8, Lauren Craig, 21:57.1; Emma St. Peters, 22:15.6, Hannah Richer, 22:35.6 and Maleah Ruder, 23:48.5.
