Pair of frosh lead No. 10 HU men to runner-up at Bethel Invite

Freshmen Haile Stutzman and Kent Yoder placed second and fourth, respectively, to lead the Huntington University men’s cross country team to a second place finish at the Bethel University Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 12.

Stutzman was runner-up among 218 runners in the 8K race by clocking in at 25:46.7, 30 seconds behind the time posted by champion Wesley Meyer of Olivet Nazarene. Yoder clocked in at 26:00.0 for his fourth place.

HU, ranked 10th nationally, scored 64 points as a team out of the 16 teams competing. Olivet Nazarene was the team champ with 43 points.

Elijah Chesterman claimed third place for HU with a 26:16.2 clocking. Adrien Gentie finished in 26:38.0 for 20th and Aaron Hendryx placed 27th in 26:45.9.

Other runners for the Foresters included Nick Childs, 39th in 27:08.9, Michael Cheezan, 67th in 28:01.3, Kody Ahrens, 28:27.5, Tristen Comer, 28:48.4; Justin Ayers, 29:25.8 and Cody Feisel, 30:13.5.
