Junior Hannah Stoffel blew away the field and the record book as she won the Crossroad League Women’s Cross Country Championship on Saturday, No. 9 in South Bend.

Stoffel shredded the 5K course record with a clocking of 17:04.5, beating her closest competitor by almost 54 seconds. That helped lead HU to a third place finish as team among the 10 CL schools.

Molly Mitchell took fourth out of 124 runners with a time of 18:24.8. Saige Norris gave HU a third top-10 finisher with a time of 18:52.2 for eighth place.

All three of the Forester leaders earned all-conference honors.

Mara McFarland navigated the course in 19:27.4 for 24th place and Olivia Von Gunten rounded out HU’s scoring by placing 19:55.3 for 32nd place.

The Foresters finished with 69 points. Taylor claimed the title with 45 points, followed by Indiana Wesleyan with 59.
