Carroll defeats Lady Vike gymnasts

The Huntington North High School varsity gymnastics team was defeated by visiting Carroll, 99.250-92.225, on Wednesday, Jan. 15.

The Lady Vikings’ best showing was on vault, where Chloe Camomile and Emma Wilson both claimed third place. The sophomores each posted a score of 8.600.

Wilson also captured bronze on the uneven bars and balance beam. She scored a 7.050 on the bars and a 7.975 on beam. Behind her trio of third-place finishes, Wilson placed third in the all-around with a final score of 31.375.

Carroll was led by all-around champion McKinley Carroll, who posted a score of 36.150. She captured first place on vault, bars and in the floor exercise.

Kinsey Strine placed fifth with a tally of 8.4 to complete the Lady Vikes’ finish on vault.

On bars, Strine was fourth with a 6.825 showing and Emily Manry was fifth with a 6.775.

Corynn Barton finished fourth on beam with a 7.200 and Camo,ile was fifth with a 6.750.

Camomile was fifth on floor with a score of 8.1. Wilson was sixth with a 7.750.

Huntington North also lost the junior varsity contest, 74.100-31.450.

Freshman Manry posted the Lady Vikes’ best finish, placing third on beam with a 6.400.
