Huntington North High School announced its athletes of the week for the week of Nov. 30 as varsity swim team members Sara Karst and Danny Scher.
Karst earned two first place finishes in her individual events, the 200-meter freestyle and 500-meter freestyle, during the team’s meet against Manchester on Dec. 2. She also contributed to two first place finishes in relay events, the 200-meter medley and 200-meter freestyle.
Against Snider on Dec. 4, Karst won the 200-meter freestyle and placed second in the 500-meter freestyle. She also contributed to second and third place finishes in two relay events.
Karst has finished first in the 200-meter freestyle in all five meets and has three first place and two second place finishes in the 500-meter freestyle so far this season.
Scher set a new school record in the 50 free against Snider on Dec. 4, with a time of 22.36. He is undefeated this season in the 50-meter and 100-meter freestyle.
