HN goes 58-50 against the Marion HS Giants

The Huntington North High School boys’ basketball team traveled to face the Marion Giants on Saturday, Feb. 20, and the varsity team came away with a satisfying win over their opponents.

The Vikings started out slow, but once they took the lead, they never let go of it.

By the end of the first quarter, HN was up 16-10 against the Giants.

A close game throughout, Huntington advanced to 27 while the Giants advanced to 21 at the second half.

At the end of the third quarter, Huntington stood 40-32 over Marion. It was during the fourth quarter that both teams ramped up their scoring efforts.

By the end of the competition, Huntington North managed to gain 18 points to end the evening with 58 points. Marion also added 18 points in the fourth, ending with their final score of 50.

The HN junior varsity team didn’t have the same luck as their varsity counterparts. While the competition was relatively close, Marion came out on top with a 54-48 win over the junior varsity squad.

Huntington North will host Kokomo High School on Friday, Feb. 26, to end their regular season.
