HN boys sweep Manchester HS

The Huntington North High School (HNHS) boys varsity tennis team hosted Manchester Junior-Senior High School on Wednesday, Sept. 1, managing a clean sweep of wins for doubles and singles play.

During singles play, senior Carson Kitchen took on Manchester’s Brad Wiley, going 6-2 in both sets. Senior Jacob Daugherty faced off against Cole Henderson, a freshman, and won 6-1 and 6-0. Senior Chase Mickley went 7-5 and 6-1 up against Payton Jones.

In doubles play, the team of Max Fusselman and Ethan Zahn were matched with Ethan Espeset and Isaac Reichenbach, going 2-6, 6-3 and 6-1.
Braeden Christiansen and Dale Schwelle were matched with Sam Hupp and Calvin Brown, winning 6-1 and 6-3.

In junior varsity singles play, each player earned a win. The only Manchester win for the evenign was in JV doubles play, when Zach Rice and Isaac Pflieger fell to Josh Steely and Sammy Lambert 8-2.
