Boys tennis takes sectional win

During the Sectional Championship for boys tennis, the Huntington North High School (HNHS) varsity team held off Norwell High School on Friday, Oct. 1, to advance to the regional competition.

Carson Kitchen, the No. 1 singles player for HNHS, earned the only singles win during the championship round, going 6-1 and 6-0 against Ethan Ottinger.
In the No. 2 singles spot, Jacob Daugherty took on Grant Mishler, ending the night 7-5, 3-6 and 6-4. Chase Mickley, in the No. 3 spot, went 7-6 (7-4) and 6-2 against Jaden  Payne.

Doubles play went  much smoother for the Vikings, with Matthew Weill and Reid Eckert topping Kellen Zimmer and Winston Fraughiger 6-4 and 6-0.
Max Fusselman and Ethan Zahn won 6-3 in two sets against Kaden Graft and Brason Chaney.
