HN swim hosts Bluffton Tigersharks on Nov. 16

On Tuesday, Nov. 16, the Huntington North High School (HNHS) Lady Vikings swim team hosted the Bluffton High School (BHS) Tigersharks at the Parkview Huntington Family YMCA for the first HNHS home meet of the season.
The Lady Vikings were victorious in their efforts, earning an 88-59 win for the night. Many swimmers were able to drop their times from the previous competition, which took place at Norwell High School. Others competed for the first time in the pool.
Top finishers included the following:
• Annika Carpenter placed first in the 100 Fly and 100 Backstroke.
• Mya MacAleese placed first in the 200 Free and 100 Free.
• Madalyn Sink placed first in the 200 Individual Medley and second in the 500 Free.
• Delaney Houser placed first in the 100 Breaststroke and third in the 50 Free.
• Kayla Reich placed first in the 50 Free.
• Jade Perrin placed second in the 100 Breaststroke.
• Ava Vanlandingham placed third in the 200 Individual Medley.
Top relay results included the following:
• Carpenter, Houser, Sink and Reich finished first in the 200 Medley.
• Reich, Houser, Vanlandingham and Mac-Aleese finished first in the 200 Free.
• Perrin, Makenna Haston, Chloe North and Elena Quiroga finished second in the 200 Free.
• MacAleese, Sink, Vanlandingham and Carpenter finished second in the 400 Free.
The team was originally scheduled to be back in the pool on Tuesday, Nov. 23, to kick off Thanksgiving Break with a meet against Canterbury High School, which would have been the first boys meet of the season. However, according to a Huntington North Athletics Facebook post, the meet had to be postponed due to low numbers available for the opponents. The post stated that HNHS will look to reschedule the meet.
