The Huntington North High School boys basketball program broke the highest field goal percentage for a game during the Thursday, Dec. 30, Holiday Hoops Tournament game against Merrillville High School.

The mark obliterated Huntington North’s previous program record of 61.9 percent against Blackford High School in 1984.

The team converted 27 of their 33 field goal attempts, giving them an 81.8 percent for a ranking of third all-time in Indiana high school boys basketball history during an individual game.

The top two percentages in the state are Tippecanoe Valley vs. Northfield during the 2013-14 season with 84 percent and Goshen vs. Adams during the 1973-74 season with 82 percent.
