A road win was earned by the Huntington North High School (HNHS) girls basketball team on Saturday, Jan. 8, as the team competed against East Noble High School and earned an impressive 55-14 win.
The Lady Vikings earned 14 points in the first quarter alone, with Emma Daugherty earning five points, Marissa Trout earning three and Corinne Martz, Grace Sell and Leah Campbell each earning two. East Noble earned three points.
Another 14 points was added in the second quarter to Huntington’s score, with more than half coming from Molly Daugherty. East Noble added five points, bringing the score at halftime to 28-8.
The second half of the game was heavy in free-throws for HNHS, with Campbell, Emma Daugherty and Trout each making multiple successful free-throw shots. The third quarter saw HNHS earn 16 points, while East Noble earned three. HNHS earned 11 in the fourth quarter and East Noble again earned three.
Trout once again led the way for the Lady Vikings, earning 15 points overall for the team. She was followed by Emma Daugherty with 12 points and Molly Daugherty with 11 points and six rebounds. This brings the team’s season to 12-4 overall and 3-1 in conference play.
