Viking boys track team takes 2nd place

The Huntington North boys track and field team placed second at the Muncie Invite Saturday, April 23.

Delta won the meet with 113 points, followed by the Vikings with 87.5 points, Yorktown with 78, Muncie Central (72), Kokomo (69.5), Anderson (41), and Jay County (32).

The Vikings only first-place win was in the 4x800m relay where the team of Harrison Niswander, Tony Decker, Brayden Voght, and Gavin Byerly crossed the finish line first.

Placing second were:
-Niswander in the 3200m run (10:06.38)
-Caleb Reust in the 300m hurdles (41.91)
-the 4x400m relay team of Decker, Reust, Micah Plemons, and Brayden Voght (3:39.65)

Finishing third were:
-Niswander in the 1600m run (4:38.63)
-Voght in the high jump (5’ 6”)
-the 4000m distance medley relay team of Byerly, Keagan Price, Jordan Rockey, and Isaiah Decker (11:59.80)

Coming in fourth place were:
-Byerly in the 1600m run (4:57.33)
-Reust in the high jump (5’ 4”)
-Tiler Carr in the discus (114’ 5”) and the shot put (42’ 7”)
-the 4x100m relay team of Noah Wagner, Voght, Carlos Cuadrado, and Tatum Brooks (46.48)

Placing fifth were:
-Gabe Osborn in the long jump (41’ 10”)
-the 800m sprint medley relay team of Cuadrado, Wagner, Brooks, and Rockey (1:45.19)

Finishing sixth was:
-Nate Elliot in the discus (111’ 9”)
