The Huntington North baseball team ended its season in their sectional opener on their home field against Homestead Thursday, May 26.
After 4 1/2 scoreless innings, Homestead, the home team for the neutral-field game, scored two runs in the second inning and one in the six to take a 3-0 lead.
The Vikings had their chances to score in the fifth inning when Austin Oswalt started the inning with a single and moved to third on a bunt from Lucas Thorn and a Homestead error.
Isaac Wilson grounded into a 1-6-3 double play and Lawson Doyle flied out to end the inning.
Trailing 3-0 in the top of the seventh, the Vikings looked to keep the game going.

But Thorn grounded out to short and the Spartan defense held Moreland at third.
Down to their last out, Wilson struck out swinging to end the game.
Oswalt led the Vikings at the plate going 3-3, while Moreland, Thorn, and Cam McCarver each had one hit.
Oswalt pitched a complete-game, going six innings, giving up three runs on three hits with three strikeouts.
