HU track athletes earns national honors

The U.S. Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) named the All-Academic athletes and teams for the 2022 NAIA Track & Field seasons with Huntington well-represented in both programs.

On the women’s side, five Foresters were tabbed NAIA Academic All-Americans which includes Shelby Christman, Sydney Lambert, Abigail Mays, Emily Tedder and Carmen Trier.
 

As a team, Huntington was one of more than 50 programs to claim the title of an NAIA All-Academic Team with their collective grade point average of 3.31.
The HU men’s squad was also deemed an All-Academic Team with a combined GPA of 3.48.

Seven Foresters in Noah Bise, Zachary Collins, Aaron Hendryx, Matthew Hyter, Austin Liepe, Josiah Sovine and Kent Yoder earned the status of NAIA Academic All-Americans.

To be named an Academic All-American, athletes must carry a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 and have achieved an automatic or provisional qualifying mark for either the indoor or outdoor season.

Programs to earn a spot on the elite Academic Team list must carry a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher which includes all student-athletes on the institution’s eligibility certificate.
