Lady Vikes win Shootout

The Huntington North girls basketball team traveled to the Plymouth Shootout Wednesday, Dec. 28, winning the tournament with victories over Wawasee and host Plymouth.

1st round

The Lady Vikings opened the tournament with a 51-28 win over Wawasee Wednesday morning.

Huntington North led 12-6 after the first quarter and grew the lead each quarter after that.

Marissa Trout paced the Lady Vikes with 22 points and nine rebounds while Taylor Double chipped in with 15 points, nine rebounds, and five assists.

Hayden Bailey and Gracie Fields each added five points in the win.

Championship

Huntington North cruised to the Plymouth Shootout championship with a 54-23 win over Plymouth in the final game of the tournament.

Double led the way with 14 points, seven rebounds, and five steals while Fields added 11 points and Bailey finished with nine points and three assists.

Marissa Trout had eight points and four rebounds on the night, Elle McDonald added six points, and Gabby Leichty and Cam Working scored three points apiece.

The Lady Vikes improved to 11-9 on the season with the wins.
