The Huntington North gymnastics team celebrated its three seniors — Allie Smith, Kinsey Strine and Janna Teusch — in style on Monday night, Feb. 20, defeating Wayne and South Side in a tri-meet in Huntington North’s fieldhouse.
The Lady Vikes racked up a total of 89.725 team points, bettering Wayne and South Side’s totals of 72.475 and 67.150, respectively.
Teusch led the way for Huntington North by winning the all-around competition with a total score of 31.850. Teusch tallied marks of 8.800 on the vault, 8.775 on the floor, 7.350 on the beam and 6.925 on the bars. Her 8.800 on the vault won that event.
Smith placed second in the all-around competition with a score of 29.825. Most notably, Smith won the floor event with a score of 9.000 while also posting marks of 8.550 on the vault, 7.275 on the beam and 5.000 on the bars.
Sarah Crist rounded out Huntington North’s all-around podium by placing fourth with a total score of 27.350. Adalyn Cutting (26.675, sixth) and Mya Wolf (24.950, eighth) also competed in the all-around competition for the Lady Vikes.
