Vought advances to state finals

Brayden Vought will finish his track and field career at the IHSAA State Finals after earning a spot in the 400 meter dash to lead the Huntington North boys team to a 17th place finish at the Carroll Regional Thursday, May 25. Voght placed third in the 400m dash with a time of 50.40 to qualify for the state meet. Voght also anchored the 4x400m relay team with Caleb Reust, Noah Wagner, and Tony Decker as they finished in 13th place. Caleb Reust finished fifth in the 300m hurdles with a time of 40.80. Micah Plemons placed sixth in the 110m high hurdles with a time of 15.14 and added a 10th place result in the 300m hurdles in 42.04. Braeden Christiansen topped out at 20 feet 9.5 inches in the long jump to place seventh. The 4x100m relay team of Asher Chipchosky, Wagoner, Christiansen, and Tatum Brooks finished in 13th place in a time of 44.47. Wagoner also competed in the 200m dash and cross the finish line in 23.00 seconds to finish 13th. Scotty Middaugh competed in the pole vault but didn’t score. Vought will compete at the IHSAA Boys Track and Field State Finals at Robert C. Haugh Track & Field Complex on the Indiana University, Bloomington campus on Friday, June 2. The senior will run the 400 meter dash at 7:05 p.m.
