HU freshman Addy Wiley left an indelible mark on 1500-meter history Saturday afternoon, June 3, at the 21st annual Music City Track Carnival hosted by the Nashville Track Club on the campus of Vanderbilt University. The Forester rookie won the 1500m Pro in in a blazing 4:03.22 to become the second-fastest woman in collegiate history. Among US collegiate woman, only former world champion Jenny Simpson (3:59.90, 2009) has ever ran faster. “There’s really no words to describe what Addy did today in the 1500m,” said HU Coach Austin Roark. “To go out in that field and in that heat and put down a time like that is incredible. “She continues to impress not only myself, but everyone who knows her. She’s one of the hardest and most dedicated workers I know, and she deserved this breakthrough. She represented HU today and goes down in the record books.” Wiley’s jaw-dropping performance saw her win by more than two seconds having left ten other elite runners in her wake. Senior Dylan Felger also competed in what is considered the South’s most exciting track meet where he posted a season-best 51.04 in the 400m hurdles to finish fifth in the Pro B section. “I’m very happy for Dylan to run another season best,” noted Roark. “He continues to get faster each race. “I really don’t think we’ve seen the best of Dylan Felger yet.”
