The Huntington North boys golf team wrapped up its 2023 season at the Warsaw Sectional meet on Friday, June 2, at Rozella Ford Golf Club, placing fifth in the team standings with a score of 330. Cole Collins paced the Vikings with a score of 80, with Austin Williams on his heels firing an 81. Javin Gray followed by turning in a round of 82, with Kai Richison’s 87 rounding out the Huntington North scoring quartet. Griffin Husband fired a non-scoring 92 to complete the Viking contingent. Warsaw won the team title with a score of 313, while Tyson Baer of Northfield earning medalist honors with a round of 71. Golf outing part of festival The Salamonie Sumer Festival golf outing will be Saturday June 10, 2023. It starts at 8 a.m. at Dogwood Glen, Warren. It is $50 per Golfer or $200 per Foursome. The team of Jerry Hoy, Darwin Stoffel, Dean Sink, and Rowdy Bryant won the June 6 Etna Acres Senior Scramble with a team score of 30. Placing second was the team of Jim Shearer, John Ayers, and Jim Dubois with a 32. Two teams tied with a score of 33, Paul Schoreter, Rich Batterson, Jeff Grey, and Russ Felton, and the team of Bob Hoch, Gary Snyder, Bob Bishop, and Jim Melton. Longest drives went to Snyder on No. 10 and DuBois at No. 14. Bishop earned closest to the pin on both holes No. 12 and No. 16. Chip-ins went to Chuck Wells on No. 12 and Ken Marshall on No. 16.
