HU men's tennis team splits pair

The Huntington University men's tennis team split a pair of matches on Saturday, March 28, to open its spring season, losing 7-2 to Alma College to begin the day and then downing Spring Arbor University 6-3 in its second match.

Against Alma, the Foresters got a win from Gonzalo Vivas and Jameel Brenneman (9-8) at #1 doubles and from Jon Brenneman, who defeated Mark Stuart 6-4, 6-3 at #4 singles.

HU rebounded in its second match against the Cougars.

Jameel Brenneman and Jon Brenneman got the 9-8 win at #2 doubles and Matt Cable and Paul Hageman won 8-5 at #3 doubles.In singles play, Jameel Brenneman earned a 6-4, 6-0 victory at #3. Jon Brenneman won 6-4, 6-3 at #4. Cable was a 6-7, 6-4, 10-6 winner at #5 and Keaton McDonald got the 6-1, 6-3 win at #6.

With the split, HU moves to 4-8 on the season.
