Liz Conley fired a medalist 38 to lead the Huntington North High School girls' golf team to an easy victory over visiting Tippecanoe Valley and Southwood at LaFontaine Golf Course on Thursday, Sept. 2.
The Lady Vikings' total of 179 was 46 strokes better than Southwood's 225, and Tippecanoe Valley was well off the pace with a 259.
Conley's score was the best individual mark of the day by eight strokes, and led an HNHS sweep of the top four scoring places. Shawna Titus fired a 46, Morgan O'Banion had a 47 and Maddie Meese posted a 48 as the Lady Vikings improved to 4-2 on the season.
"We are really stepping it up and coming together as a team," noted HNHS Head Coach Scott Winter. "We have improved by 25 shots in the last week as a team. All the girls are playing well as we come into the important part of the season.
"With the NCC tournament and sectional upon us, our girls are really clicking at the right time."
Laurisa Richard was the HNHS non-scorer with a 65. Lauren McCullough also competed for HNHS, carding a 65.
Jessica Pegg led Southwood with a 49. Valley's top scorer was Lizzy Erne with a 60.
