AIHS gets $30,000 donation from NIPSCO

Aging & In-Home Services of Northeast Indiana Inc. (AIHS) has received a $30,000 donation from NIPSCO as part of the 2019 Charity of Choice program supporting Seniors.

AIHS is among one of 10 nonprofit organizations that serve Seniors in northern Indiana chosen by NIPSCO to receive funding.

NIPSCO’s annual Charity of Choice program was created to help maximize financial and volunteer impact in communities that NIPSCO serves. Each year, more than 3,000 employees are asked to select one non-profit or an area of need to support beyond NIPSCO’s core year-round giving. This year employees chose Seniors and raised $90,000, along with the company’s commitment to match $50,000, for a total of $140,000.

“We are so appreciative to NIPSCO for this generous and unexpected gift,” said AIHS President and CEO Connie Benton Wolfe, “which will allow us to continue crucial programs to support safe and independent living for older adults in their own homes.”

In addition to AIHS, this year’s beneficiary organizations include Alz-heimer’s Association, Northern Indiana; Alzheimer’s Association, Northwest Indiana; Area Five Agency; LaGrange County Council on Aging; Meals on Wheels of Northwest Indiana; Noble County Council on Aging; Porter County Aging & Community Services; REAL Services, South Bend; and White County Council on Aging.
