Bernie Lou Younce

Bernie Lou Younce, 79, of rural Wabash, IN, died Wednesday, May 27, 2020, at 7:30 a.m. at Rolling Meadows Healthcare Center in LaFontaine.

Mrs. Younce was a 1958 graduate of Noble High School and received her nursing certification from Indiana University Kokomo. She was a registered nurse at Wabash County Hospital for 19 years. She was a member of the Wabash Alliance Church and belonged to the Ladies Prayer Band at the church.

She was born Aug. 16, 1940 in Peru, Indiana to Donald and Vivian "Maxine" Miller Cole. She married Jerry E. Younce on July 17, 1959, in Wabash, and he survives.

Additional survivors are three sons, Gregory (Lisa) Younce, of McKinney, TX; Brian (Cindi) Younce, of Wabash; and Andrew (Susan) Younce, of Somerset; a daughter, Marianne McAllister, of Wabash; 10 grandchildren, Trevor Younce, of Dalles, OR; Jarrod Younce, of Oklahoma City, OK; Colin Younce, of McKinney, TX; Aaron (Chelsea) Smith, of Muncie; Graham (Lanae) McAllister;  Justin (Amanda) Younce, Andrew McAllister, Treyton Younce, Jaeden Younce and Makenna Younce, all of Wabash; a brother, Donald (Marianne) Cole, of Wabash; a sister, Karen Grogg, of Conroe, TX; a sister-in-law, Linda Cole, of Kokomo; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ashley Younce.

Calling is Monday, June 1, 2020, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash, and for one hour prior to the Tuesday, June 2, 2020, funeral service at 10:30 a.m. at Wabash Alliance Church, 1200 N. Cass St., Wabash. Todd Render will be officiating. Burial will be in Mississinewa Cemetery, Wabash.

Memorials are to the Alzheimer's Association.
